Lean was born and raised in the Philippines and has lived in Seattle with her family since 2011.  She earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Master of Architecture at the University of Washington.  Lean has participated in architecture study abroad programs including a 2016 scholarship to visit Rome as part of the Architecture & Food City studio.  While completing her masters, she participated in a ScanDesign program in collaboration with award-winning architects in Copenhagen, Denmark.  She was also involved in a landscape and architecture studio to design and build a sauna/pavilion project in the rural landscapes of Dals Långed, Sweden. Lean recognizes the importance of the social and cultural aspects of architecture.  She is interested in residential and housing architecture, specifically the notion of “home” created beyond the built structure.  Her personal work involves the exploration of architecture allegory, storytelling and fictional visualization.  Outside of the office, she can be found in various coffee shops around Seattle on the hunt for the best cappuccino.
